New Fontaine Trailer Customer Care Center

JASPER, ALABAMA -- Fontaine PartSource™, the aftermarket parts unit of Fontaine® Trailer Company, is staffing the new Fontaine Trailer Customer Care Center in Jasper, Alabama. Its purpose is to serve Fontaine Trailer dealers and end-users with technical assistance and warranty support. "We're in business to serve customers and make their lives easier. With the new Customer Care Center, Fontaine Trailer commercial customers have a single source for service information, warranty support, technical assistance and aftermarket parts," stated Ed Wentz, president of Fontaine PartSource. “Of course, Fontaine dealers remain the primary contact for end-users”, concluded Wentz.

“If a customer experiences a product or service issue, we have provided an environment to help that customer reach a satisfactory result in a timely fashion,” remarked Dan Giles, Director of Engineering for Fontaine Trailer Commercial Business. With Fontaine's new system it's easier than ever to register trailers online, plus they provide the ability to look up trailers by VIN to determine in-service dates. All Fontaine Trailer Commercial Dealers (platform and heavy-haul) can take advantage of this time-saving resource. With this move, Giles will continue to manage product performance and reliability for Fontaine, (including vendor supplied products) to make sure customers receive the best transportation products the industry has to offer.

To date, twenty-one Fontaine PartSource dealers have signed up for the program covering 33 market areas in the U.S. and Canada. PartSource Partner dealers enjoy the best value options and service levels available from Fontaine PartSource in return for merchandising, promotion, volume and stocking commitments. “We developed a program to reward our dealers that are committed to growing their business with us,” according to Ed Wentz, President of Fontaine PartSource. “We have many good dealers around the U.S. and Canada that have stepped up with their willingness to serve Fontaine Trailer customers with enhanced product knowledge, on hand inventory and superior service. For that, our Partners enjoy financial and service level benefits not available to non partner dealers”,said Wentz. Berkshire Hathaway Inc. To
Acquire 60% of Marmon Holdings, Inc.

December 25, 2007 - Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett and Tom Pritzker, Chairman of Marmon Holdings announced today that Berkshire will purchase 60% of Marmon Holdings, Inc., a private company owned by trusts for the benefit of members of the Pritzker Family of Chicago. Marmon Highway Technologies and Fontaine Trailer Company are members of the The Marmon Group, Inc.

The closing is anticipated to occur in the first quarter of 2008. At closing Berkshire will acquire 60% of Marmon for $4.5 billion. The remaining 40% will be acquired through staged acquisitions over a five to six year period. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

John Nichols, Vice Chairman of Marmon said “This is a transaction that works for all stakeholders. It will allow Marmon to thrive under its existing management team and continue implementing our management philosophy. While we have a new shareholder, it is clear that Berkshire Hathaway shares the values and approach established by the Pritzkers over many decades.”

Frank Ptak, President and CEO of Marmon said: “We have had a very positive experience working with Tom Pritzker and the leadership of the Pritzker family. We are happy that they have been able to structure this transaction in the way that will allow us to continue to grow Marmon. For use with Platform and Drop Platform trailers, these double and single door styles are available with robust continuous door hinges. Infinity Twist Lock Trailer From Fontaine

Fontaine Trailer has introduced a versatile new trailer to the marketplace - the Infinity TX Twist Lock, which is really two trailers in one. There is an advanced technology dropdeck trailer to handle a variety of loads, and a twist lock trailer to haul intermodal shipping containers. For even greater flexibility, the trailer is equipped with two twist locks at the front, four in the middle and two at the rear, so drivers can haul two 20-foot ISO containers or one 40-foot container. Fontaine’s composite technology gives this versatile trailer strength, weight and durability. The steel main beams - constructed using grade 130 flanges welded continuously on both sides for maximum structural integrity - are covered by the XtreamBeam lifetime warranty.
